Eduardo Mapa, Jr. - Managing Director, Media Contacts Philippines, Havas Digital Yeah. Being like jolly old St. Nick, Ed's arrival is always an anxious time for everybody. And you always wanna tell him you've been good. You could wait for him to climb down the chimney, and wait, and wait but you'd miss him. Because like his campaigns, he's perpetually unpredictable and often in disguise. With Asia Pacific Brewery's Dr. Inkbeer, he got Singaporeans downing pints again. With Philippine Tourism's Experience Philippines, he took web Fil-Am celebrity "Happy Slip" home and made everybody know about it. Her first homecoming to the Philippines. With Philippine Daily Inquirer's InQuest, he got people reading the paper again, getting in their heads with the perfect whodunnit case. WIth the "Take U to the Philippines" music video that spread like viral wildfire, he got world-renowned recording artist Apl.De.Ap of the Black Eyed Peas raving rhymes on a rockin' republic. With Awesome Philippines, he got kids around the world trooping to the tropics after they "discovered" the Philippines. And, for his troubles he's gotten a load of heavy "metals" (or awards) to lay on people. Yeah. Because he's a rock star like that. |

Byron Garcia - Consultant, Social Media Byron Garcia was assigned as Capitol Security Consultant when his sister Gwendolyn Garcia assumed office as Cebu Governor in 2004. He could easily have pursued a comfortable corporate career being a management graduate. But he chose to be with the thugs and dangerous men of society. It was seen as a thankless and demeaning job where his relatives thought it was such a crazy thing to do. Byron was catapulted to international fame when he made 1,500 inmates of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) dance to Michael Jackson's 'Thriller'. Videos of the dance and exercise routines that he uploaded on YouTube has since had 70 million hits over the past two years and over 40,000 subscribers. The dancing inmates concept also brought in international networks like CNN, BBC and magazines like TIME and NEWSWEEK dispatch their crew and correspondents to the Philippines and then to the mountains of Cebu to actually see the 'dancing inmates'. Byron was also awarded as one of Cebu's Ten Outstanding Men because of his unique concept in jail management and rehabilitation. At present, he is doing consulting in the area of management, security, rehabilitation, and working on several ambitious projects that will utilize social media applications. |
