After taking up European Languages at UP Diliman, Dennis has successfully reinvented himself from an engineering and financial corporate track into being a full-time corporate image and documentary filmmaker, marketer, and educator at the Shoot Practical Videography School.
He leverages his skills as a linguist by regularly working with European clients in the Philippines. His advocacies revolve around climate change and environment, energy, social enterprise, land-use, good governance and sustainability. When he’s not at the Shoot School, he works on corporate AVPs, image films, kickstarters videos and documentaries.
Being relatively new in the videography industry hasn’t stopped him from chasing big ticket projects and carving out a niche for himself in this space. The Pandayang Lino Brocka Documentary Filmmaking Workshop, INDIEPendensya Filmfest Filmmaking Workshop, the Mayad Academy 3, and Muse: Academy of Storytellers are some of the workshops he attended to help him transition into the videography community.

His pioneering efforts in the field of digital art earned him top honors in the International Designers’ Network (IdN Club, Philippines) since 1998 and the very first winner in the Digital Art Category when it was first instituted in the 53rd Art Association of the Philippines Annual. He has designed dozens of books including A Pilgrim’s Diary and The Governor-General’s Kitchen, which won him consecutive National Book Awards for Best Design in 2005 and 2006. Edwin Tuyay is a photojournalist,street and corporate photographer. He started off his career as a still photographer for local and international film productions.
Then applied for staff photographer position in the Manila Chronicle newspaper from 1986 up to 1988. He covered the Senate, Malacanang Palace, Military and Congress beats. He was sent to Spratly Islands by the editors of Asiaweek and covered the hot spot group of islands. After that assignment, he was eventually hired as their first staff photographer by the Time-Warner Company based in Hongkong. Shierdan, or more commonly known to his colleagues as ‘Dan’, is an independent TV and film director, producing his own TV shows and independent films.
Dan gained his interest in the field of videography at the age of 12 when his parents acquired a video camera to document the activities of their non-profit foundation D-SHEP FOUNDATION INC.
His interest furthered on during his college years when he became the de facto videographer for family gatherings, weddings and graduations. Though he finished a degree in Marketing from the Adventist University of the Philippines, he knew that he found his calling in the film industry. Dan pursued this chosen career and it opened opportunities for him to shoot in other Asian countries for numerous corporate clients based in the Philippines and abroad.
Currently, he is exploring creating more films and video content for TV and the web. Dan believes that film and video through the entertainment and movie industry can be a means of shaping a better society. Since graduating from Filmmaking from the University of the Philippines Diliman in 2004, EJ has worked as a filmmaker and has subsequently directed documentary films tackling issues of environment and society.
