Print is not dead. Printed book sales rose by 1.9% last year, followed by a further increase of 2% during the first half of 2018. The data continues the 5-year trend of improving book sales, with a collective increase of 10.8% more books being sold since 2013.
The tactile warmth of analog combined with the efficiency of digital technology are inspiring writers to collaborate with graphic designers. In the realm of independent publishing, books, comics and zines are gaining traction and influencing big businesses because of its audience engagement and originality. This is where print is heading to.

Ige Ramos is an award-winning visual artist, book designer, and food writer. He is a fearless traveler, cook and recipe kitchen-tester. He is the founding editor-in-chief of Rustan’s Supermarket SansRival Magalogue. For the past 15 years, he designed the most influential, Philippine-published cookbooks and restaurant branding identity systems. He is currently the President of the Culinary Historians of the Philippines, the Vice President for External Affairs of the Philippine Culinary Heritage Movement and an active member of Slow Food Philippines. His personal advocacy is to research, promote and preserve the food traditions of Cavite Province via his platform, The Republic of Taste Food Network, through Ige Ramos Design
