Photojournalism is very much alive today. More publishing platforms like online publication are now added aside from the traditional newspaper and magazines.
During the seminar, we will tackle the basics of photojournalism, how to shoot single photo/pictures for front page materials, basic caption writing, photojournalists’ ethics, post processing do’s and don’ts, etc..
Level: Beginner to Intermediate
Edwin Tuyay is a photojournalist,street and corporate photographer. He started off his career as a still photographer for local and international film productions.
Then applied for staff photographer position in the Manila Chronicle newspaper from 1986 up to 1988. He covered the Senate, Malacanang Palace, Military and Congress beats. He was sent to Spratly Islands by the editors of Asiaweek and covered the hot spot group of islands. After that assignment, he was eventually hired as their first staff photographer by the Time-Warner Company based in Hongkong. He covered major events, like the ASEAN Summits, SEA Games and photographed movers and shakers of the region.
He likewise free-lances for Newsweek, Time, Fortune, Paris Match, New York Times, Esquire, etc.
His corporate accounts are Ayala Group of companies, Metrobank, LandBank, STI,Lopez,Inc., BancoDeOro. Jolibee,JG Summit, Manila Water, Lopez Group,etc. His book credits include Mt. He is a regular member and Past Vice President of Wedding & Portrait Photographers of the Philippines (WPPP).
He is a lecturer for Photojournalism at Philippines Center for Creative Imaging.
