BusinessMirror, the name, signals the paper’s commitment to provide people with a broader look at the nation’s business in these challenging times. In a word, this means it covers not just economies or industries or companies or markets, but all the people and elements whose dynamics influence developments, movements and trends. Beyond policies, it raises for the reader the question, ‘What does this mean to me?’ Beyond statistics, it provides the means to understand why data and related information are what they are, what they mean in concrete terms and what are the challenges they pose. Beyond government goals and targets, it provides readers an idea of how exactly such can influence their personal objectives and directions. BusinessMirror provides as well the means for interaction at every level, across all fields: government with private sector; policymaker with ordinary citizen; corporations with workers; executives with subordinates; big business with small business; entrepreneurs with fellow entrepreneurs: the encounters are limitless and, mirrored here, provide the dynamism that makes coverage so much more exciting and far broader than that of an ordinary business paper.”

PHILIPPINE GRAPIC PUBLICATION INCORPORATED

Philippine Graphic Publications, Inc. (PGPI) is a publishing company that brings together three magazines: the weekly newsmagazine Philippine Graphic; Mirror, the healthy lifestyle magazine, the culinary lifestyle magazine. As part of the ALC Group of Companies, these magazines have now been formally consolidated under the PGPI banner.

COOK MAGAZINE

Cook Magazine: Connecting Foodies is a culinary lifestyle magazine published by the Philippine Graphic Publications, Inc. Now in its 5th year, it is led by veteran food writer, stylist, and culinary consultant Nancy Reyes-Lumen, who is also the host of Practical Cook, already on its 4th season, which runs every Sunday at 9 a.m. on ABC 5. The Cook team is also led by Magnolia Silvestre as Executive Editor, and Edwin K. Aguilar, Managing Editor.

As Cook’s founding editor, Nancy is a champion of traditional Filipino cuisine, practical cooking methods that are in line with times, and of enjoyable but conscientious eating. She asserts, “There is no bad food; only bad eaters!” She was among the first to incorporate local dishes into the South Beach Revolution. And has, for a long time, offered good alternatives that cut the fat, but not the pleasure, from eating.

Cook Magazine chronicles trends and industry updates, discusses preparation techniques, and shares all kinds of “goodies with the foodies”. It also introduces readers to chefs, trends in food-related businesses, and not just kitchen-tested recipes and techniques. Every issue of Cooks follows themes that are insight into trends and seasons, and is an invaluable reference for lovers of foodie lifestyle.
